After relocating from The Netherlands to Kuala Lumpur with Ming, we established Ming Tung Graphic Design Team in 1994. Together with the team, we delivered a wide range of brand design solutions for small and large local enterprises and international corporations. Following is a small selection.

Design Team was approached to design a new logo and brand identity for Malaysia Major Events, a subsidiary of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau / MyCEB (under the Ministry of Tourism) The brand was applied to a wide range of applications and comprehensive brand design guidelines were delivered. Subsequently Design Team proposed the new brand identity to be extended to MyCEB in order to achieve consistency across the total MME – MyCEB brand expressions.
Microsoft Asia approached us to design the event identity for the first Software Policy Summit to be held in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The design was a fresh approach to the usually boring legal and governmental summits. Feedback was extremely positieve and Design Team was invited to design the following event in Bangkok. This was cancelled due to “9/11”.
Design Team was invited by Axis Communications to co-design the wayfinding signage system for The Curve Lifestyle Mall in Kuala Lumpur. The strong colour coding, clear graphics were a first for Malaysian environmental graphics at that time. The approach became a trend in future developments.
Over the course of several years, Ming and Ton designed a wide range of art catalogues and exhibition invitations for Valentine Willie Fine Art in Kuala Lumpur and Bali.
Partnering with Freeform Design, Design Team was awarded this project in a pitch with several international design firms. The revitalization of the Petronas Dagangan brand identity. A new grid system, colour palette and typography was developed and the revamped identity was implemented on a large number of applications, from buntings to office interiors, from vehicle livery to head scarfs.
